A recap of last weeks events leading up to the official launch of TechLink

19 November – FinEst FinTech Conference
On the day before the official launch of UK-Estonia TechLink, a FinTech Conference was hosted for 100 participants from the UK and Estonia, including representatives of major banks, Fintech sector innovators and key tech enablers from the UK such as TechCityUK, TechNorth and Level 39.
The conference reinforced links between the relevant UK and Estonian FinTech sector stakeholders, brought more strongly to the fore the opportunities for the UK financial sector to exploit technologies being advanced in Estonia (including for example Bitcoin/Blockchain), and the most interesting avenues from the discussions in conference and in the margins will be taken forward via further more focused events both in the UK and Estonia, organised by the TechLink team.

On 20 November, UK-Estonia TechLink was launched officially by UK Cabinet Office Minister Lord Bridges and Estonian Economy Minister Kristen Michal, in the margins of the ministerial meeting of the world’s 5 leading digital governments (The “Digital 5”) in Tallinn.
